Ibarra looking to shine in Texas July 13th

By Dan Hewitt

Boxing TV's Dan Hewitt speaks with rising American prospect Roger Ibarra (3-0 2KO's), ahead of his 4th professional fight July 13th. He fights on El Tigre Promotions Title Night at the Lone Star Convention Center, Conroe, Texas. Attention from all corners of the globe are firmly on the show as 3 titles are on the line for headline fighter Alfonso Lopez. Ibarra speaks with us about his upcoming fight.

Dan: How is preparation going so far for July 13th?

Ibarra: So far it’s going good. I’m really close to my weight already so I get to focus on other things like conditioning and timing.

Dan: Is there anything different that you have been working on this camp?

Ibarra: I have been working on my reach more, keeping my distance instead of smothering my punches. Working on my body shots and picking up my speed.

Dan: You fight Timothy Tyler July 13th in Texas, what do you know about him?

Ibarra: Not much, I haven’t really heard of him just seen a few things, but that just reminds me of the amateur tournaments. You show up we all weigh in, then that day we find out who we fight.

Dan: There is huge interest from all over the World for the show July 13th, what does it feel like to be on such a huge international stage?

Ibarra: Im excited. I’m ready to showcase my talent and hopefully be able to impress more people around the World. The fact I get this opportunity is amazing and I hope I can give a great show.

Dan: For those who haven't seen you before, explain your style

Ibarra: I'm very long and most of the time I’m a very calm boxer. I’m learning to put my combinations together so I can throw more punches. But I mostly try to use my jab because that’s my best punch.

Dan: What can the fans expect from you July 13th?

Ibarra: For my last fight I stopped the guy with a body shot in the first round, the one before that I fought all 4 rounds. It can go either way so for now they should just expect a good fight and hopefully a very intense match.

Dan: What have you got to say to your fans?

Ibarra: I just want to thank everyone who has been supporting me throughout my fights. Also for everyone who has been following me on FB on my new page #TeamRoger I appreciate all the love and support.

Headlining the card will be talented light heavyweight Alfonso Lopez (33-3 24 KO's), as he faces top contender Alex Thuran. (21-3 14 KO's)
